HOW TO MAKE GINGER ALE
ingredients
- 300 grams of ginger.
- 5 cups of water.
- 2 cups of brown sugar.
Procedure
- Take 300 grams of ginger and wash it in cold water and then peel it off.
- now finely chop it and set it aside. Make sure that your ginger is nice and fresh, you don't want the dry ones.
- So take a saucepan and add 5cups of water (1 cup=250ml). you'll need to boil this for about 15 mins after 15 mins you will see that it has gain the nice brownish color.
- Now turn off the stove and strain the liquid two times one with the sieve for larger pieces and one with the multilayered cheesecloth for finer particles.
- transfer the ginger water in the same pan and and two cups of brown sugar (you can use regular sugar if you want greyish color in ginger ale).
- now again place it on top of the stove and boil it till it reduces to syrupy consistency. After that turn off the stove and cool the syrup, bring it to room temperature.
- Once the ginger syrup is cool down ,bottle them up and now you can store it up in the refrigerator for up to 1 month, now you can use this syrup to make ginger ale. you will need some other things to make it.
Ingredients for ginger ale
- Ginger syrup.
- Two tablespoons of lemon juice.
- Lemon slices.
- Mint leaves.
- Carbonated water or club soda.
- Ice cubes.
Procedure
- Add little bit of ginger syrup in chilled glass then add two tablespoons of lemon juice.
- Add some lemon slices and add a hint of mint leaves for cool and fresh aroma.
- Add ice cubes and chilled carbonated water or club soda.
- give it a good stir and you are good to go.
- for extra kick you can and 1 ounces of vodka.
